CYC Body Meeting

On Monday May 4th, Charlesgate Yacht Club will hold it’s first ever virtual body meeting at our usual time of 7pm and we will utilize the video conferencing platform Zoom to host this meeting.  To join the meeting from your PC or Mac, you can simply click on the highlighted Join Zoom Meeting link below.  You can also copy and paste the meeting URL into your web browser.  Either method will automatically launch the zoom meeting, and if you have never used zoom on your computer before, you will be prompted to install the zoom client.  On a tablet or smartphone, please install the latest version of the zoom app, start the app, click join a meeting, and put in the meeting ID and password in the note below.  If you have not updated the zoom client since April 28th2020, please upgrade to the latest version of the client or app.  There are new security features within zoom that may prevent older versions of the client or app from connecting.  You should do this at least 10 minutes before the scheduled start of the meeting. 

During this meeting, we will utilize an electronic voting mechanism for motions and asking questions, so please join from your computer, tablet, or the app on your smartphone if at all possible.  If you need technical assistance, want to ask a question, or need extra time to get set up, I will start the meeting at 6:30pm.  This will allow you to test out your setup, and I will run everyone who joins early through a demo of how we will make motions, ask questions, and cast votes.  It's very likely that we will need to conduct our body meetings electronically for the foreseeable future, as the medical experts at the local, state, and federal levels all agree that social distancing requirements are not likely to disappear anytime soon.  We have utilized Zoom at CYC for e-board meetings for the past two years, and will be able to conduct our body meetings through zoom as well. 

I hope that you, your family, and your friends remain safe during these difficult times.  If you do choose to go out on your boat, please remember to observe the social distancing rules that we put in place on April 2nd as they are still in effect at CYC.   I’ve attached the e-mail that I wrote on April 2nd that outlines the guidelines currently in place at CYC, and the first order of business on May 4th will be to discuss the latest updates that Governor Baker, his team, and the federal authorities and medical experts have.  In the meantime, please feel free to reach out directly with any questions or concerns that you may have.
